With the new changes to Facebook, I think it is way past time I start writing on this here blog some more. For some reason, I always forget about it. I've promised before to write more, but I haven't kept to that, but I really am going to try this time. I guess I'm just afraid that everyone will just find it boring - it's not like I have the most super exciting life or anything. You'll probably be all...
I keep busy with my daughter's and their activities. I also work
full time and so I'm constantly trying to balance, work, my personal
life and writing. It can get pretty crazy to be honest, fortunately, I have an awesome husband who is an amazing father and he is there every step of the way, often times, doing what he can to give me time to write, etc. So, while my
posts may not always be super exciting, they will be a peek into my life
and perhaps you can get to know me better through them. If you want to
:) Some of them will likely contain lots of Supernatural gifs like these because well... I love the show, can't get enough of Sam, Dean and Castiel, and because they're....
Of course, all book news will be posted here as well. Right now, I'm really busy writing Whispering Wishes. This romantic comedy is a lot of fun and ideas will come to me that just make me laugh so much. I really hope they make you laugh too when you read it! I hope to start having little teasers as I write it here and there.
So tell me, what kind of things do you like to read on author's blogs? Are there certain topics that you prefer or that you like to see? I would love to hear from you!
I hope you all have a great day! I will be back soon, and in the mean time, did you tune into the first Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon's last night? This part, had me cracking up!
XO,
Jen

COVER REVEAL
Friday, November 1, 2013 Labels: book series, bookfabulous designs, contemporary romance, cover reveal, Houston Book Rave, pretty little dreams, Pretty Little Lies, sequel, this modern romance
Hi Everyone! Before I begin my post... go ahead... scroll down. Look at that beauty. I know you want to. It's okay. I'll wait right here until you come back from taking a sneak peek........................................ Pretty huh? Well before I get into that, let me tell you that as you read this I am probably en route to my very first book signing. Now, when I say first, I mean as an author. I've been to LOTS of signings as a lover of books and authors, but this is the first time I will also get to attend as an author! I am beyond excited, and I confess, a little nervous too!
I am thrilled to be bringing my mom along with me. She's going to help me at my table but more than that, the two of us always have so much fun together. I'm excited to see some of my friends and looking forward to making new ones, and of course, I will be fangirling over some authors with everyone else! This should be a really great weekend. Be prepared for lots of pictures and a post when I get back from the Houston Book Rave.
Now, the reason you are likely reading this is because you are curious about PRETTY LITTLE DREAMS the sequel to Pretty Little Lies! I'm thrilled to not only share the cover with you, but the full jacket, showing you the synopsis as well. The release date for the novel is January 13, 2014!
When I saw the photograph from Stephanie from This Modern Romance, I knew that this was my Luke and Olivia. I messaged her and held my breath until she returned my message. I'm thrilled that she was willing to let me showcase her beautiful work as my cover.
Laura at Bookfabulous designs had to put up with a lot from me. I am very picky and unwilling to settle for less than my vision and she was patient, kind and so easy to work with. Thank you Laura for bearing with me and helping me make my vision a reality.
Without further adieu, I give you the cover of - PRETTY LITTLE DREAMS
Thank you so much to everyone that helps share the cover today! Some of the bloggers will even be sharing some (unedited) teasers from the book. Enjoy!
P.S. There is still time to sign up for the blog tour - ARCs will be sent out in December. If you have not read the first novel, Pretty Little Lies, please request a copy as one will be provided to you. http://bit.ly/15EOqy2

Pretty in Lace
Tuesday, October 22, 2013 Labels: fall fashion, fashion advice, fashion blogger, fashion tips, fashion trend, lace, lace trend, pretty little dreams, Pretty Little Lies
A Fall trend I'm loving this year is LACE. I can't get enough of it. It's so pretty, so feminine, so girly! This trend is showing up in everything from, cardigans, dresses, pencil skirts, even cell phone covers!
Pair this lace cardigan with a pair of tailored pants for a structured, yet trendy look.
Love how this dress just has a touch of lace on the top. Very feminine and sophisticated, yet fun and flirty.
You can even get a sweatshirt with lace! So cute with jeans!
Not sure about a whole shirt or dress in lace? That's okay, add it in moderation like with a headband...
or a pretty scarf!
And of course, what post would be complete without a cute shoe?
Not sure you are the lace wearing kind, but still think it's pretty? Dress up your cell phone instead :)
The most important thing to remember with most trends is that everything looks best in moderation! An example of overkill is below. Keep it classy! Fashion tip: No one wants to see your girly bits - even if they're covered in lace!
Book Two, Cover Reveal, Blog Tour and Supernatural!
Wednesday, October 16, 2013 Labels: cover reveal, dean and sam, Houston Book Rave, Jennifer Miller, pretty little dreams, Pretty Little Lies, supernatural
I'm sorry I haven't blogged in a while. It's something I need to do more often! I will work on that. What are you all up to? I've been writing like crazy! And in between writing I've been watching a lot of the show Supernatural.
Do any of you watch this show? My friends told me it was awesome and that I was missing out. I started watching the first season and now I'm on season six and I am totally OBSESSED with the show. I seriously can't get enough of Sam and Dean. Those boys are gorgeous. There might be reference to the show in the second Pretty Little Lies novel, Pretty Little Dreams.
So yes, it's true. I announced the title :) Also, if you missed it, the release date is January 13th! You can add it to your Goodreads by clicking HERE. I'm so excited for you to read the book! On November 1st, my cover will be revealed as well as the synopsis.
I know! Exciting!
Which brings me to the next item - if you have a facebook, twitter or blog, I would love for you to help share my cover on the 1st. All you have to do to participate is just post the cover on one of the social media sites that you have. That's it! In order to sign up, click here http://bit.ly/17pBDgc
I am also looking for blogs interested in participating in my blog tour beginning January 13th. If you haven't read the first book Pretty Little Lies, an ebook will be provided to you. If you're interested in signing up, please click here http://bit.ly/15EOqy2
I hope you all are doing great! I'm gearing up for my first book signing on November 2nd, in Houston, Texas. I'm pretty excited about that, but a little nervous too! If you are in the area, I hope you come and say hi. I would love to meet you! The details about the signing are HERE.
That's all for now! Until next time :)

Stupid Flu Ruined Vegas!
Thursday, August 22, 2013 Labels: be fearless, cold, flu, Las Vegas, Pretty Little Lies, tattoo
I am sick. You may be able to hear the sniffling and coughing from wherever you are! I had been planning a trip to Vegas for MONTHS. I was so excited to go and hang out with my friends Heidi McLaughlin and Jennifer Domenico and to finally get to meet Toni Aleo and of course, to make new friends! We had so many fun things planned... dancing, Thunder Down Under, assisting with a book signing, walking the strip and of course lots of laughing.
Before I left, my daughters were both ill. Sore throats, stuffy noses, coughs and fevers. I started taking crazy amounts of Vitamin C, Airborne, Emergen-C - you name it. The Thursday night before I left, I had a sore throat. Left for Vegas Friday morning, by Friday night I was feeling awful. Saturday morning, I started vomiting. Needless to say, my flight that wasn't supposed to leave until Tuesday, left on Saturday, late morning, instead.
I was so sad that my trip was ruined, but I refused to stay and be miserable and worse, get someone else sick :( I'm really sad I missed out on some fun with friends that I had planned for months, but before I left, I did manage to take away a few things! Lots of laughs, a picture I will cherish forever, hugs with Heidi, and a rockin' tattoo!

This is the back of my left shoulder. A reminder to go after my dreams, no matter what.

How cute is this bag? I love everything about it. The mint green color, the studs, the chain and braided rope embellishment in the front. I want!
I love big and bold statement pieces like this one. This would look so fabulous with a white t-shirt or a white button down blouse with it peeked out of the buttons. Don't be afraid to use jewelry to add a pop of color!
It may be over 100 degrees in Arizona right now, but that doesn't keep me from coveting these open knit sweaters when I see them. I love them. They look so chic yet comfortable. I will definitely have one of these in my wardrobe for fall and winter.
I LOVE animal print. It looks fabulous in moderation. THIS is how you wear it. A pop of print on the neckline or cuffs like the blouse on the right. Or a subtle print like the blouse on the left looks amazing. This is one fall trend you should jump on. You will see it all over the stores! Just remember you don't want to actually look like a cheetah :)
I love the floral trend that is all over the place right now too. Again though, moderation is important. A solid color top or bottom with a little floral mixed in is a great look. Don't over-do it like the picture below. You will look like a flower threw up on you.
Thanks everyone for visiting the blog! I will be back soon!

Review from 2 Chicks and a Blog
Labels: comedy, contemporary, friendship, Jennifer Miller, Pretty Little Lies, review, romance, second chance romance, self discovery
Okay, Let me start by saying, It takes a lot for me to genuinely laugh out loud at a book. Like, not giggle and say “oh well that was cute” or say “awww” but literally laugh out loud so hard I had tears in my eyes because parts of this book were so amazingly funny that I couldn’t help myself.
Lets Refresh:
Olivia is a girl who was completely in love with her high school sweetheart, when she overheard a conversation between him and his mother, she ran. She ran from her heartbreak to Boston to start over. She went to school, became a journalist, got married in Vegas on spring break, waited a few years, got cheated on, and got divorced. That is the beginning of this book in just a nutshell. She is a bright girl who works on a fashion blog and writes for different magazines. She seems to have it all to the outside world. Until she came home early one day and found her husband in the sack with a bimbo. She knocks the bimbo in the teeth and kicks husband in a place where the sun doesn’t shine and leaves. 6 months later, she is divorced. However, her husband Deacon doesn’t want the divorce. He has been and continues to be mean to her, treats her badly, grabs her, leaves bruises and she finally just had enough and leaves. Back to Chicago she goes, to start over. Again.
When she returns to Chicago she goes through some emotional turmoil. Her best friend Pyper (who is ass-tastic by the way) is there to pick up all of her pieces, put her back together and get her out into the world again. Pyper has so much spunk that she gets Olivia join a dating site to try to “get her back out there”.... (Pyper has so much spunk that I wanted to join a dating site after reading about it. HAHA.) Olivia seems to be doing okay and then BAM she runs into the boy. The boy, that broke her heart. Enter: Luke.
Luke just wants a chance to tell her how much he loves her and he never stopped and that what she overheard was not meant the way it came out and truthfully, Luke, does a great job. He gets her to open up and he gets her to look passed all the drama that has been caused and created by running. He gets her to realize what she has been running from is exactly what she really needs, until....... dun dun dun, Enter: Deacon, and then, CH!
I LOVED this book. I loved the spunk of Pyper, I loved the heart of Luke, I loved the Characters that Jennifer made around the Star of the book. I loved the quirks that the dating site dates had, I ADORED the Fashion tips at the beginning of each of the chapters and I absolutely loved loved loved the Pea Green Beanie Babies. I would read it again, and I more than likely will. She did an amazing job writing each of these characters and each of their personalities fit them perfectly. I cannot wait for Book 2. Jennifer Miller is now on my “Authors to look for” list. She is amazing and her writing talent goes above and beyond in Pretty Little Lies. This chick gives it 5 outta 5 stars!

Fashion Tips and Paperbacks
Thursday, June 20, 2013 Labels: Bruins, comedy, coming of age, drama, fashion, fashion advice, fashion blogger, fashion tips, hockey, humor, Jennifer Miller, love, Pretty Little Lies, romance, suspense, team spirit
Hi Everyone! Olivia has stopped by the blog today to give all of us a wonderful fashion tip! If you haven't read Pretty Little Lies yet, Olivia is the main character and she is a fashion journalist. She started a fashion blog in college for a project and it quickly took off! Watch for her to visit my blog occasionally with fun fashion advice! Without further adieu I give you Olivia....
Hi all! I am super excited that the boss lady is going to let me post on here every once in a while with a fun fashion guest post! She tells me that my fashion tips in Pretty Little Lies have been a big hit! If there is something in particular you want to see or if you have a question, comment here and let me know! I'm glad you like my tips, and I will try to keep them coming - so here is one for you today.
Fashion tip - It is okay to show your favorite sports team some love. I mean, it's expected to wear your favorite Blackhawks or Bruins jerseys and t-shirts to the games, right? However, there is such a thing as going overboard with the team lovin'. Don't believe me? I present to you... teams spirit on crack.

For more awesome fashion tips such as these, check out Pretty Little Lies, wherein each chapter begins with one of these little jewels!

Thank you Olivia for that very informative, yet fashionable post! Hope you all are having a great week! I sure am! I got my awesome box of paperbacks in the mail! Hooray! If you ordered a signed copy from me or won a copy or some sway, it will soon be on its way!
It isn't too late to order one. They are $20 which includes shipping! Email me at jennifermillerwrites@gmail.com or message me on Facebook for more information!

When Beth MacMullin contacted me about making a trailer for my book, Pretty Little Lies, I was thrilled, but that feeling was nothing compared to how I felt when I saw the result of all her time and hard work. I am beyond tickled to see my book play out before my eyes in such a cool way. I don't know how to properly thank Beth - it is amazing :)
I'm very excited to share with you the result of Beth's hard work. Plus, I thought I would have a contest for those that share the trailer themselves! Each person that shares the trailer on either their Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest, Blog or Website will be entered into a contest to win a signed copy of Pretty Little Lies, some fun swag and a book from Amazon of their choice for no more than $5.00. So, if you want five books that are .99 each, you got it!
I appreciate in advance all of you that help me spread the word about Pretty Little Lies. I can't wait to hear what you think about the trailer, so here you go...............

Olivia, my main character in Pretty Little Lies, is a fashion journalist. For a college project she started a blog she called 'Pink Sugar Couture' which crazily became an instant hit! She now has thousands of followers and runs the blog as well as writes articles for various fashion magazines.
Each chapter in Pretty Little Lies begins with one of Olivia's helpful fashion tips. Here's one of my faves...
Do you agree? Or disagree?
Hope you are all having a wonderful Memorial Day so far!

250 Facebook Likes Teaser Celebration
Sunday, May 19, 2013 Labels: adult novel, book excerpt, contemporary romance, debut author, Jennifer Miller, new author, Pretty Little Lies, teaser
I am crazy excited that I hit over 250 likes on my author Facebook page. As promised, I released a new teaser, and this one, is a long one :) My main character Olivia was talked into attending her first speed dating event by her best friend, Pyper. Olivia is not sure about this at all, and in preparation has had a few glasses of wine :) Enjoy!
“Okay, everyone, please head to your assigned tables so we may begin.”
“Good luck!” I say with a cheery wave and big smile to Pyper. This time, when she looks at me, I see concern briefly register on her face, but I just keep smiling as I head to my table.
As I approach, there is someone sitting at my table already, his name tag reads ‘Sam.’ He has light brown hair, glasses, and is dressed in khaki pants and a white dress shirt. I’m rather surprised I don’t see a pocket protector in his shirt pocket. Nothing about him really stands out at me, to be honest. I don’t feel an immediate connection or anything when our eyes meet. Bummer. Too bad I can’t just yell out “NEXT!”
“Hello!” I say. I think I may have been kind of loud. Oops.
He startles, and somewhat shyly says, “Hello.”
I set my speeding ticket and pen on the table, set my handbag at my feet and take a seat. I smile broadly at Sam. He seems a bit taken back. Hmm, I kind of feel like maybe my smile is reminiscent of the Joker, but I’m sure I’m imagining it. I’m just nervous.
Abby is at the podium again, “Okay everyone on the count of one please press your bell to start the timer. Three…two….one.” Sam and I both reach out to press the bell at the same time. I push his hand out of the way and slam my hand on the top. “And go!” I say.
He smiles at me again somewhat hesitantly and asks, “So how long have you lived in Chicago? Were you born here, or did you move here?”
“Oh, well, I grew up here, and after I got my heart broken by someone I thought loved me, I ran away to Boston to attend college where I lived for five years. Then after I went through a nasty divorce to a guy I shouldn’t have married to begin with, I came back here to live with my best friend, Pyper. She’s over there.” I tell him, making a halfhearted attempt to wave behind me. Then I take another swallow of my wine.
“Oh, well. How…nice, I guess.” He mutters.
I snort at him. Nice? Not hardly.
“How about you, Sam?” I ask and I’m pretty sure I hissed the ‘S’ like a snake.
“I was born and raised in Chicago. I went to college for website design, and right after I graduated I got a job with Websites R Us and enjoy creating websites for several clients. It keeps me busy.”
“Oh, so you’re a techy geek huh?”
“Umm, I prefer the title internet designer.”
“I’m sure you do.” I think this is going well. This is easy. “What do you like to do in your spare time?”
He clears his throat, “Well, I enjoy taking walks in the park with my dog. I have a yellow lab named Goldie.”
I interrupt, “Wow, that’s original.” I say, deadpanned. Okay, kind of rude on my part, but really? Lame name.
“Well, actually, my six-year-old niece named her.”
“Oh. Well that’s awesome!” Way to go Olivia! You just insulted his niece. You rock at this. “How many nieces and nephews do you have?”
“I have four. Two nieces and two nephews. Do you have any?”
“Nope. I’m an only child.”
“Oh.” We just stare at each other for a few seconds. Then a few seconds more. And a few more. Wow. This is awkward. Maybe I should get up and sing and dance?
He clears his throat again and just as he’s about to ask me another question a bell rings signaling the end of our date. Thank God.
“Well Olivia, it was umm interesting meeting you.”
“Hey, you too, Sam. You have a good night, and good luck or whatever!”
He stands and steps away from the table. Turning to my speeding ticket, taking full advantage of the sixty seconds, I check STOP next to Sam’s name. I’m not gonna lie. Sam was boring and I don’t really have a website I need designed, so I don’t see an advantage here. I’m sure Sam thinks that went well though. I’m sure I at least got a MAYBE from him. Go me! I’ve totally got this. I am an amazing speed dater. I should get a button. Or a medal.
